WASHINGTON--Leslie Jo (Bucher) Aschliman, 32, Bolingbrook, IL, passed away Saturday, July 26 at 9:15 pm at Loyola Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois. Leslie was born March 18, 1976 to Steven and Vicki (Aschliman) Bucher of Washington, IL. Leslie was a graduate of Washington Community High School and Taylor University where she earned a BS degree in Psychology. Leslie later graduated from Honors Cosmotology School in Indianapolis and worked as a cosmotologist prior to beginning a family. On March 2, 2002 she married Tyson J. Aschliman in Indianapolis with whom she shared six beautiful years of marriage. They became parents to T.J. (Tyson Jay) on August 16, 2005, lived in Bolingbrook, IL and were members of Crosstown Church. Leslie is survived by her husband, son, father, mother, three brothers; Chris (Margaret) Bucher of Indianapolis, IN, Dan and Cody Bucher of Washington and one sister; Dana (Curt) Anliker of Wheaton, IL; five nephews; Max, Sam, Will, and Ben Anliker and Jonathan Bucher and one niece; Tori Bucher; maternal grandparents, Robert and Ida Aschliman of Bluffton, IN as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. Her grandparents, Vernon and Melva Bucher, preceded her in death. Leslie had battled cancer since the discovery of a sinus tumor in October 2007, and won her eternal victory. A private family service will be held at New Smyrna Beach, FL. Memorial services will be held in Washington, Archbold, OH, and Bolingbrook, IL in the upcoming weeks. As a means of keeping family and friends updated on their journey with this disease, Tyson and Leslie initiated a blog site on MySpace and also a blog site http://www.forleslie.blogspot.com. The web site soon took on a life of its own serving to inform, encourage, and challenge each one who read it in their personal walk with Christ. Details of the memorial services are intended to be posted on this web site once dates are set. Horses were a passion of Leslie’s from childhood and the family wishes to include the Central Illinois Riding Therapy or the Tyson Jay Aschliman educational fund at Heartland Bank 130 S. Main Street, Washington, IL 61571 or any area branch as sources to which contributions may be made. Leslie will be remembered for her infectious smile, hearty laugh and most of all for her unshakable faith in her God to her last breath.
