Gloria B. Biagini

Gloria B. Biagini, 82, of Washington, IL died at 6:35 pm Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at her home. Born on January 30, 1935 in Cullom, IL to Andrew J. and Irene Koerner Gassler, she married Alfred R. Biagini on September 12. 1959 in Cullom, IL. He preceded her in death on January 13, 2008 in Peoria, IL. Surviving are 6 children; Bernard (Denise) Biagini of Morton, IL, Michael Biagini (Christine Goodman) of Washington, IL, James (Peggy) Biagini of Brentwood TN, and Theresa (Eric) Mickels, Alan (Lori) Biagini, and Nancy Biagini, all of Washington, IL, Grandchildren; Joey Biagini, Nicole and Thomas Mickels, Emmy and Joshua Biagini, Garrett Woodall, and Sam Orrell, brothers; Dick Gassler and Wendell Gassler, both of Cullom, IL, sisters; Ruth Heideman of Ashkum, IL, Phyllis (Edward) Moritz of Cullom, IL, and Sharon McCoy of Fairbury, IL, and brother and sister-in-law, Roger (Leah) Bakel of Toluca, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents and several brothers and sisters. Prior to raising her family, Gloria worked at State Farm Insurance in Bloomington, IL. In later years, she worked at the box office at the Illinois Central College Performing Arts Center in East Peoria. She was a member of St. Patrick Church in Washington, where she was a past member of the Women’s Guild, and served as a School Room Mother, participated in the Tuesday Morning Prayer Group, and volunteered on the funeral dinner committee and the hospitality committee. She was also active in the Central Illinois Lupus Support Group. She was a faithful and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. Gloria was big-hearted, selfless and compassionate to those who knew her. She was humble, never concerning herself with material things. Visitation will be from 4-7 pm on Monday, January 8, 2018 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington, where recitation of the Rosary will be at 6:45 pm. A funeral mass will be at 11 am Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at St. Patrick Church. Father Steve Willard will officiate. A graveside service will be at 1 pm Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at St. Ann Catholic Cemetery in Toluca. A dinner and reception at Capponi’s Restaurant in Toluca will follow the graveside services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Patrick Church and School or to the Central Illinois Lupus Support Group.
