Justin "Bud" Dawson

The world lost one of its kindest, most gentle souls on June 5, 2015, with the sudden passing of Justin M. Dawson, known to most people as Bud, at the young age of 38. While outwardly quiet, Bud was a gentle man with a quick wit and a huge heart. Without hesitation, he would lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He loved spending his free time playing poker with family and friends. He was an avid fisherman and proudly would proclaim his ability to ‘out-fish’ anyone who was up for the challenge. Bud treasured spending his time outdoors, swimming, playing bags with friends, and in particular, he loved working in his garden. He had quite the green thumb and was able to yield vegetables so big that any farmer would be jealous. He was a gigantic sports fan and especially loved the St. Louis Cardinals. Bud was also a huge animal lover and enjoyed spending time with his dogs, Bella and Cooper. Whether it was throwing the frisbee in the backyard, or cuddling next to each other in bed, his home life always included his dogs. The love he had for Bella and Cooper shined through their eyes, which lit up whenever he entered the room. Bud was born on August 26, 1976, and is survived by his parents; Rodney Dawson and Beth Dunn. He is also survived by his siblings; Shawn Dawson, Amber Dawson, Alec Dawson, Rodney Dawson, and Ryan Dunn, with whom he shared very special bonds with; nephew; Dominic, niece; Scarlett, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition, he is survived by his longtime girlfriend; Andrea Abbadini, who he loved dearly. They spent many years together raising her daughters, Abbey and Ashley. Bud loved them both very much and treated them as his own children. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Lawrence and Mary Jane Barry, and younger brother; Aaron Dawson. Although faced with many challenges over the last few years, he never let anything break his spirit. Bud’s life was taken entirely too soon, however, in the short time he was in this world, he made a huge impact on everyone he met. He touched the world in so many ways, leaving behind a legacy of joy, kindness, and love. Friends are invited to celebrate Bud’s life on Thursday, June 11, 2015 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington.
