Charles Morgan "Chuck" Green III

East Peoria – It is with great sadness that the family of Charles Morgan “Chuck” Green III announces his passing after a brief illness on Friday March 1, 2013 at his residence. He was 53 years old. He was born on May 23, 1959 to Charles II and Maggie Green. His loving mother of Peoria survives. Chuck will be forever remembered by his wife and best friend of 24 years; Karen, and his princess; Ashley (Josh Myers) Huffman of Morton and his son; Chase Green at home in East Peoria. He will also be lovingly remembered by his two grandchildren; Kayden Joshua and Kohen Charles, one brother; Michael (Janet) Green of Canton, one sister Deirdriu (Jeff) Coffman of Nashville, TN, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father Charles and one sister Dawn Turnbow. Chuck served in the United States Army in the 32nd infantry stationed in California. Following his years of service he was employed by the State of Illinois for 26 years, last working in December 2012. During those years he worked for Zeller Mental Health Center, Central Management Systems in Springfield and IDOT. He was an avid Chicago Bulls fan. He enjoyed playing all competitive sports. Chuck participated in the Gus Macker tournaments with his long time buddies Dean and Bobbie Gill and Bruce Rager. He loved playing golf with his son Chase and his best friend, Don Simpson. He cherished spending every fun-filled moment he had with his grandchildren and his little buddy Donald Wayne “DW”. There will be a funeral service for Chuck on Tuesday March 5, 2013 at 7 PM at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria. Pastor Jonathan Franklin will officiate. There will be a visitation from 4-7 PM prior to the service. Military rites will be performed by active duty soldiers. Cremation will be accorded following the service. Guests are invited to join the family for a time of celebration of Chuck’s life at EP’s Timeout in East Peoria immediately following the funeral. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Education Fund for Kayden and Kohen Myers c/o CEFCU.
